Middle School Application Process (Grades 6 - 8)
The following admissions guidelines should effectively guide prospective middle school students and their families through the admissions process. Applications are now being considered for August, 2012 entry:
- An admission application and the $50 fee should be submitted to Chaminade. We accept our own Application for Admission as well as the online SSAT Secondary Application. Applications received by Wednesday, February 15 receive primary consideration.
- An official transcript should be mailed from the student's school directly to Chaminade. Please complete the front page of the Transcript Release and Recommendation Form and give the form to your son’s school. A representative from his school will complete the form and will send it and the transcripts directly to Chaminade.
- The Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) is required. The SSAT will be administered at Chaminade on Saturday, February 4 with the make-up test offered at St. Louis Priory on Saturday, March 3. Please visit http://www.ssat.org/ to register for the test. The test fee is $116. If a family cannot afford the test fee, please contact Matthew Saxer '85, Director of Admissions, at 314-692-6650 or msaxer@chaminade-stl.com as test fee waivers are available.
- A shadow visit is required, and the student interview is part of his shadow visit. Please contact Dianne Dunning-Gill, Associate Admissions Director, at 314-692-6640 to schedule a shadow visit.
The financial aid deadline for the 2012-2013 school year is Wednesday, February 15. Please note that separate committees determine admission decisions and financial aid grants. Families will receive our admission decision letter before the financial aid announcement letter.
