The Food Service Department is committed to providing wholesome, satisfying and nutritious meals which help to support good health, learning and the overall well-being of each Chaminade student.
Food Service envisions providing all students with the proper nourishment needed to assure optimal health and well-being which helps to facilitate learning. The Food Service Department at Chaminade is responsible for providing nourishing, high quality food items that are reasonably priced that look and taste appealing to our students, faculty, and staff.
Food Service provides three meals daily, which include breakfast and lunch for all students, faculty, and staff. The department serves breakfast and lunch to approximately eight hundred fifty students. The snack shack is open during the lunch period and it provides menu choices such as: pizza, toasted ravioli, nachos, chicken nuggets, hot dogs, and many other tasty food items. The snack shack is also open after school for snack food items that the students enjoy. Food Service also provides dinner for sixty-five resident students as well as weekend meals. The resident students are also treated to four special dorm dinners throughout the calendar year: the opening dorm dinner, Thanksgiving Resident dinner, the Chinese New Year and the closing barbeque dinner.
One unique feature of the Food Service Department is the posting of weekly lunch and dinner menus on the portal to enable all users to view their food choices. The portal also provides a means for parents, students, faculty, and staff to view their Skyward food accounts and view account balances and specific items purchased for each day.
Food service has developed new salad and soup recipes by consulting with local vendors, food shows, the vendor’s staff chef, the internet, and various food magazines. Examples of the salad and soup recipes are; Layered Taco Salad, Cobb Salad, Broccoli and Apples Salad, Curried Chicken Salad, House Spinach with Strawberries Salad, Rice Tuna and Tomato Salad, Holiday Turkey Salad, Cheesy Chicken Tortilla Soup, White Chicken Chili, and Baked Potato Soup.
