Named Faculty Development and Department Funds
The Billhartz Family Creative Arts Fund
This fine arts endowment fund provides an opportunity for students to explore creative interests while exposing them to new experiences across a range of fine arts. The annual distribution is to be used to enhance the fine arts programming for the academic year. A few examples of how the annual distribution could be used are guest artists visiting classes, special education experiences that bring in other schools and/or the community, or special add-on projects to an event and/or production that the fine arts department is already doing. The Fine Arts Department Chair, together with the other members of the department, shall make the program selections for the annual distribution. All funds must be spent by June 30th of the awarded academic year.
Conrad & Eisenhart Inspirational Leadership Fund
This fund was created to provide a leadership opportunity for members of the Chaminade faculty and/or staff each year. The annual distribution will be used for specialized training or advanced professional learning intended to empower faculty and/or staff to improve their professional knowledge, leadership, competence, skill and effectiveness. Each January the principal will call for applications for the Conrad & Eisenhart Inspirational Leadership Grant. The faculty and/or staff requests will describe how specialized training, or advanced professional learning will help them develop their leadership skills and how it links to the Chaminade Mission and Vison as well as Marianist values. Requests will be reviewed by the school principal and his council in March of each year, and the distribution will be made pursuant to the principal’s discretion by May 1st.
Dr. Brett Desnoyer Faculty Development Fund
This fund was created in honor of Dr. Brett Desnoyer to recognize his passion for teaching and instructional vision. The purpose of this fund is to support professional instructional development and teaching innovation at Chaminade College Preparatory School. A Grant Program will be established, whereby faculty can apply for resource grants to develop and enhance their teaching practice through the purchase of resources, ultimately benefitting students and enhancing active learning practices. The grant funds will be distributed at Dr. Desnoyer’s discretion, no matter his position, for as long as he is employed a Chaminade. In addition to the Grant Program, the gift can be used in other ways to support Dr. Desnoyer’s educational and instructional vision for Chaminade College Preparatory School. For example, Dr. Desnoyer may choose to host conferences on campus and invite guest speakers to share professional educational practices with other local, national or international educators. Dr. Desnoyer has the authority to use the funds for new programs or activities in the future that would further the purpose of the fund. When Dr. Desnoyer ends his time of service at Chaminade, the management of this fund would be handled by the Associate Principal of Instruction and Mission or a similar administrative position.
