How to Apply

Middle School Students

There is still time to APPLY for our Middle School Program!

Step 1: COME MEET US
  • Come experience a day in the life of a Red Devil. Please call the Admissions Office at 314-692-6650, to set up a SHADOW VISIT. Shadow visits are half-day from 7:30AM to 12:30PM. Parents are encouraged to tour Chaminade during you son's shadow day experience.
Step 2: REGISTER FOR THE SSAT
  • The Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) is OPTIONAL for all Middle School applicants. Chaminade requires a current (taken in the current academic year) nationally recognized standardized test, such as the Iowa Basics/ITBS, Stanford Achievement, or ERB for admission. If you do not have those tests in your son's transcript, or choose to take the SSAT, please visit www.ssat.org to register. Please enter Chaminade as a recipient for test scores to be sent directly to Chaminade.

Step 3: APPLY!
  • Applying to Chaminade is simple! Just click here to access our On-line Application. Chaminade also accepts the SSAT Standard Application Online. A $50 application fee is required.

Step 4: WE NEED YOUR TRANSCRIPTS AND TEACHER RECOMMENDATIONS!
  • Please sign and submit the Transcript Release and Teacher Recommendation Form to your son's current school: CCP Transcript Release 2017. Your school will send Chaminade your son's grades, testing results, and information from the past three years. A current teacher in a core subject is asked to complete the recommendation.
Step 5: SCHEDULE YOUR FAMILY MEETING
  • Once you've applied to Chaminade via the on-line application, you'll see a link in your application checklist to sign-up for a Family Meeting with a member of our Admissions team.

Admission acceptance letters will be mailed to students on Friday, March 16, 2018. Enrollment packets and financial aid determination letters will be mailed the following day.

Chaminade uses FACTS for Financial Aid, a link to the application is found on the Tuition and Financial Assistance tab on this website.

To officially reserve a place in the class, please submit an Enrollment Contract and Deposit, which is due four weeks from the student's acceptance.

High School Students

Parents are encouraged to tour Chaminade during you son's shadow day experience; tours typically take place from 7:45-9:15 am.

NOTE: All freshman applicants will complete the Chaminade application AND St. Louis Archdiocese application. Please contact the Admissions Office for more information. High School Applications are due by December 16, 2016.

Applications for Financial Aid for middle school families are due by the end of December 2017. Early estimates for High School Applicants are available - please contact the Business Office for more details. Resident Students

Chaminade offers both 5-day and 7-day boarding. Students come from throughout the United States and from around the world. Resident students reside in Canning Hall with all rooms having air conditioning and wireless internet. Most students live in a room with another student in the same grade while seniors have their own room.

U.S. resident student applicants should follow the guidelines listed on the Middle School or High School Application Process pages. The application fee for U.S. students is $50 and must accompany the application. The fee may be paid by cash, check, MasterCard, Visa, or American Express. U.S. resident students are now being considered for the 2018-2019 school year.

International student applications are now being considered for the 2018-2019 school year (entry in August, 2018). Prospective students should apply as soon as possible:

  • Complete an Application for Admission. Students have the choice of completing Chaminade's Application for Admission by clicking here or the paper form found in your admission packet. You may also use the Association of Boarding Schools (TABS) Common Application found on the TABS website: http://www.schools.com/apply/forms.html .
  • Submit copies of the student's academic transcripts from 2011 through the present school year. The transcripts must be translated into English. A copy of the grading scale should be included with the transcripts. Please see PDF of form here CCP Transcript Release 2017
  • If the student has taken the TOEFL Junior or SLEP test, please have the results sent to Chaminade. One of these exams is helpful for our admission review process but not required.
  • Submit the non-refundable international application fee of $150. This is payable by check, MasterCard, Visa or American Express.
  • One additional letter of recommendation from a current teacher is encouraged but not required.
  • A copy of a bank statement indicating funds available for education must be submitted with the application.
  • A Skype interview with our Co-ordinator of International Programs & Recruiting is required as this will help us to evaluate your son's speaking and listening skills. Once Chaminade receives the Application for Admission, we will contact you via email to schedule a time for this interview which lasts about 30 minutes.

If an international student is accepted, the student will receive an acceptance letter, enrollment contract, registration form, health insurance form and resident student physical form. A $3,200 tuition deposit should be submitted with the enrollment contract and registration form in order to hold a student's place in the class. Once that has been received, Chaminade's Admissions Office will mail the I-20 form along with numerous other forms.

First year international students are required to bring an OFFICIAL and FINAL copy of their transcripts with them to the United States. Failure to do so may delay the student starting our academic program.

The Esto Vir International Program is required of new international students who were not enrolled at an accredited U.S. school the year preceding matriculation into Chaminade. The program begins in early August and is focused primarily on English assessment and instruction but it also contains facets of orientation to our school such as English and Math placement testing, laptop orientation, House System introduction, academic and college counseling, health services, and other areas. The program provides time for students to settle into their new environment while still enhancing their English verbal and composition abilities.

I-20/SEVIS

For students who do not hold U.S. citizenships, Chaminade will issue the SEVIS Form I-20 upon receipt of the required deposit and signed Enrollment Contract. The SEVIS Form I-20 must be presented to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in the student's country of residence. Upon completion of the family interview and review of materials, the U.S. Embassy or Consulate will then issue the student visa with F-1 status for entry in the United States and attendance to Chaminade.

Students applying for Middle School:

Applicants must apply using Chaminade's Application for Admission online, please click here.

If applicants are applying to more than one school for middle school entry, they may choose to complete the Independent Schools of St. Louis (ISSL) Secondary Application. To apply online using the ISSL Secondary Application, please visit the ISSL website. Also required is the Transcript Release Form which is submitted to your son's present school.

Freshman applicants only (grade 9):

Applicants must apply using Chaminade's Application for Admission online, please click here.

In addition to Chaminade's Application for Admission, the St. Louis Archdiocesan Application/Transcript Release Form is also required. Students attending a Catholic grade school received a copy of this form from their school in October. Students attending a private or public school should request a copy of this form by contacting Dianne Dunning-Gill, Director of Enrollment Management, at 314-692-6640 or ddg@chaminade-stl.org. Freshman applicants should use Form B of this paperwork to have transcripts sent to Chaminade instead of using the Chaminade Transcript Release Form.
