Acting

Building the Character

This class is open to ALL BOYS AND GIRLS entering grades 7 to 12.

From improvisation to scene study to physical choices, during our week together we'll have fun learning advanced acting techniques to bring vivid characters to life on stage. Students will gain specific skills and build knowledge from theatre faculty and through peer analysis that will help them prepare for their next audition or role. An intensive theatrical week that's sure to result in a big step forward for anyone interested in acting!

Expository Writing Camp

Expository Writing Camp

This camp is available to ALL STUDENTS entering grades 6 - 8.

Grow in confidence as a writer as we explore the Six Traits of Good Writing: Ideas, Organization, Voice, Word Choice, Sentence Fluency, and Conventions. This camp will follow a workshop format. Students will write daily, conference with other students and the teacher, gain feedback, and explore strategies for revising and improving writing.

Mini College Application Jump Start

Are you overwhelmed about getting started with the college application process, creating a college list and/or deciding on a topic for your essay? Attending the Mini College Application Jump Start Camp is designed for rising seniors to learn how to navigate the college admissions process and develop a plan EARLY to get started on the right path.

The Mini Jump Start Camp is a shortened version of the June camp and will assist you with:
  • Creating a Common Application account.
  • Create a rough draft of a resume
  • Establish timelines for submission of materials to colleges
  • Organize the components of the application to begin the school year

Laptops will be provided.

Model Rocket Camp

Model Rocket Camp

This camp is available to ALL BOYS AND GIRLS entering grades 3 through 7.

Campers build, craft, paint, and launch their rockets under careful supervision. Along the way they learn some basic physics, a little rocketry history, and have a lot of fun! Our rockets are similar to rockets you find in a good craft store, with parachutes and small solid fuel engines. They are launched from a safe distance with an electric signal from a control pad.

Organizational Boot Camp Middle School

This camp is available to ALL BOYS entering grade 6 to 8. The camp is limited to 25 participants.

Organizational Boot Camp MS aims to transform boys into organized and self-sufficient young men. The camp, run by a middle school counselor and a 6th grade teacher, offers a fun, competitive environment where students gain important skills that will benefit them in the classroom and in life. By signing up for this camp, your son will:
1. Learn applicable organizational skills.
2. Take home a binder full of all the knowledge and tools he learned at camp.
3. Receive ongoing tips and reminders throughout the upcoming school year via online communication. Parents will also receive additional information.
Start your son off on the right foot as the new school year begins!

The Potter's Wheel

The Potter's Wheel

This camp is open to ALL STUDENTS entering grades 3 - 12.

Come experience the magic of clay moving through your fingers while forming your very own clay bowl. You will learn the skills of centering, pulling up, and shaping on the potter's wheel. You will explore the throwing through individualized instruction and hands-on attention. Once pieces are basque fired, then you will glaze your work. The finished works should be ready to take home on the last day of camp. Any ability level accepted. No prior experience needed.

Students will learn the following fundamental reading skills:

2. Recalling and summarizing key details
3. Creating inferences
4. Understanding cause and effect
