Middle School

middle school students

Chaminade's middle school program provides exceptional opportunities for our students to grow and develop as we seek to prepare them for success in high school academically, socially, and spiritually.

The goal of our middle school is to give students the opportunity to establish positive and trusting relationships with their peers and their teachers. Our House System is often the avenue through which these relationships are formed and developed.

Our middle school faculty members are trained in their content area and have exceptional knowledge of the material they are teaching. In addition to content expertise, we pride ourselves on having a firm grasp of the developmental stages of middle school boys. Our teachers are well-versed on how boys best learn and what teaching strategies can be utilized to get the most out of the boys in our classes. Our teachers truly have the best interest of their students in mind when developing their lessons as well as in their daily interactions with their students.

One of the best ways to meet friends and to begin to develop life-long relationships with your classmates is by getting involved. Our many sports teams, clubs, and activities are great ways to explore your interests while getting to know your classmates.

Our middle school academic program is diverse and challenging. Students are given ample opportunities to master the skills necessary to be successful not only in middle school, but in high school as well. In addition to the core disciplines, we offer advanced mathematics, intensive writing programs, STEM, and a fine arts program that enables students to take classes in the state-of-the-art Skip Viragh Center for the Arts.

We are so proud of our Experiential Education Program. A student that enters Chaminade in 6th grade will have the opportunity throughout their time in middle school to go with their classmates to the Grand Tetons in Wyoming, Chicago, Iowa, and Washington D.C.  A select few 8th grade students will also get the opportunity to be a part of an England exchange program. Each of these trips has a focus that ties into the curriculum and allows students to experience these places in new and unique ways with their classmates.

In an effort to fulfill our mission as a Catholic, Marianist institution, we are able to offer a comprehensive faith formation program for our middle school students. Each student will participate in retreats, service, liturgy, and faith sharing through our campus ministry department.

Chaminade's middle school students can expect to be challenged to grow spiritually, morally, intellectually, and socially during their time in our middle school. The ups and downs of middle school will prepare them to be successful students in our high school and good citizens of our school community.
