Chaminade School seeks an energetic, relational, strategic, and mission-driven leader to serve as Associate Director of Admission. This role is ideal for a thoughtful professional who understands that admission work is both analytical and deeply personal, and who can tell Chaminade’s story with authenticity. Grounded in the mission Esto Vir—Latin for “Be a Man”—Chaminade is committed to forming young men to become the men the world needs them to be.

This role works closely with the Director of Enrollment Management. The Associate Director will help lead strategy and execution for recruitment. The Associate Director will steward families from inquiry through enrollment and to graduation through retention efforts.

A strong understanding of the independent school landscape, including the competitive realities of excellent local public schools and peer institutions, is essential, as is the ability to confidently articulate Chaminade’s distinct value—particularly the benefits of an all-boys, Catholic environment that is intentionally designed to support boys in their developmental years.

Key responsibilities:

• Share the school’s mission, values, educational philosophy, curriculum offerings, extracurricular activities and vision with prospective families.
• Support new family onboarding and reenrollment.
• Assist with shadow visit program for prospective students.
• Conduct tours for prospective families.
• Assist with students who serve as student ambassadors as well as conduct training sessions for ambassadors throughout the school year.
• Travel occasionally to promote the school at feeder schools, high school nights, professional conferences and fairs.
• Continually develop relationships with administrators at feeder schools and constituents.
• Work with Marketing Director to create electronic and print materials that will help share the mission of the school to prospective families.
• Assist with Director of Enrollment in planning on campus events such as Open House, Parent Coffees and other recruitment events.
• Assist Director of Enrollment with creating Admission report for all candidates. Keeping records of all transcripts, teacher recommendations, test scores for applicants.
• Assist the Director of Enrollment with retention activities including meeting with current students and parents.
• Be open to aiding school in other needs such as chaperoning experiential education trips, coaching, or moderating a club.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Four years working in Admissions either college, university or an independent or
• religious school preferred
• Knowledge of admission practices and procedures
• Ability to be a spokesperson for the school through excellent written and oral communication skills
• Understand nuances of financial aid process and can demonstrate confidentiality with information
• Strong work ethic with ability to work outside of normal business hours including evenings and some weekends
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of working in Google docs, Zoom and familiarity with school database systems
• Ability to collaborate with faculty, staff and constituents in a hands-on approach

This is a full-time staff position that straddles the Campus Ministry and Theology departments and will report to the department chairs and the principal.

Ideal candidates will:

• Have a Bachelor’s in Religious Studies, Theology or other related fields.
  • Other degrees will be considered with relevant experience in ministry
• Willingness to pursue a Master’s degree
• Hold a deep personal faith rooted in Jesus and His Church and effectively communicate the Gospel message;
• Have a passion for fostering spiritual growth in Middle School and High School aged young men;
• Facilitate leadership development and faith-sharing among students
• Work in collaboration with other Campus Ministry team (three full-time and one part-time members) to ensure a well-organized and fully functioning department
• Attend, participate, and lead retreats at every grade level
• Lead and supervise overnight retreats
• Provide students with a variety of prayer opportunities, both on retreat and in their daily lives
• Strengthen existing service program by establishing and nurturing existing and new service opportunity contacts
• Facilitate and lead service opportunities for students as needed (potential for some after-school day and weekend projects)
• Plan, develop, and execute lessons that reflect the Theology curriculum
• Adapt curriculum for individual, small group, and remedial instruction to meet the needs of all students
• Evaluate the academic and social growth of students
• Evaluate student progress and their ability to meet the course's standards in knowledge and skills
• Plan and develop lesson plans and teaching outlines
• Employ a variety of methodologies in teaching and instructing pupils, including demonstrations, discussions, and lectures
• Actively participate in student and faculty activities (retreats, lunch duty, faculty meetings, and in-service activities)

This is a full-time faculty position in the Counseling Department that reports to the department chair and the principal. The High School Counselor is responsible for implementing and managing a comprehensive school counseling program to serve the academic, social, and career development needs of students.

Ideal candidates will:

• Help students attain an optimum level of personal and social adjustment
• Meet with small groups of students outside the classroom to respond to identified interests or needs
• Conduct or coordinate parent meetings to provide information and/or support as needed or requested
• Work with students in planning personal and educational goals
• Assist students in making the transition from school to school through orientation activities
• Provide interventional counseling for students
• Provide small group counseling based on student surveys of interest and need
• Provide consultation and feedback to parents, staff members, and community agencies regarding strategies to help students
• Consult with parents, teachers, administrators and supporting agencies concerning the needs and abilities of students
• Update and maintain confidential student records

This is a full-time faculty position in the Classical and Modern Languages Department that reports to the department chair and the principal.

Ideal candidates will:

• Have a Master’s in Spanish;
• Organize and use a variety of teaching techniques, strategies, materials, and technology to maximize the learning of each student, individually and in-group settings;
• Develop students’ understanding and appreciation of other cultures;
• Coordinate with department members to ensure classes are advancing at the appropriate pace to continue to the next level;
• Assess student progress, provide students and parents with specific feedback, and use the results to adjust instruction as needed;
• Provide opportunities for academic support and challenge;
• Actively participate in student and faculty activities (retreats, lunch duty, faculty meetings, and in-service activities).

This is a full-time faculty position in the Theology Department that reports to the department chair and the principal.

• Ideal candidates will:
• Have a Master’s in Theology or a related field;
• Plan, develop, and execute lessons that reflect the curriculum
• Adapt curriculum for individual, small group, and remedial instruction to meet the needs of all students
• Evaluate the academic and social growth of students
• Evaluate student progress and their ability to meet course standards in knowledge and skills
• Plan and develop lesson plans and teaching outlines
• Employ a variety of methodologies in teaching and instructing pupils, including demonstrations, discussions, and lectures
• Actively participate in student and faculty activities (retreats, lunch duty, faculty meetings, and in-service activities).

These are full- and part-time staff positions in the Facility Department that report to the Facilty Manager.

In this position you will:

• Perform custodial work in academic, athletic, and resident areas
• Respond to immediate custodial requests
• Perform room set-up for special events and activities
• Perform minor maintenance such as lamp and filter replacement, painting
• Assist with other maintenance tasks as needed

These are per-diem faculty positions that report to the high school principal.

Substitute teachers will:

• Assume duties of the regular classroom teacher promptly and in accordance with school rules;
• May supervise students in out-of-class settings (e.g., assemblies, lunchroom) as directed and supervised by the principal;
• Implement existing lesson plans in a manner that ensures the integrity of academic time, and motivates students to learn and participate;
• Instruct students regarding a variety of classroom topics/courses of instruction, as determined by the lesson plan;
• Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. Address the various learning styles of students accordingly;
• Assign reasonable tasks and homework to students in accordance with the lesson plans;
• Maintain classroom control that fosters a safe, positive environment for all students and staff;
• Ensure adequate supervision of students and classroom environment to assure health, welfare, and safety of students.

This is a staff position in the Resident Department who reports to the Resident Director and the Principal.

The role of Prefect requires that you supervise approximately 60 young men one or two days each week in addition to an alternating weekend schedule. Compensation includes room, board, and a stipend.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Being an adult mentor to the resident students
• Being available to assist students with their academic work
