Tuition and Affordability

Chaminade’s financial assistance application will be available soon. Chaminade uses FACTS to collect and validate taxes. 

Applying for financial assistance is a separate process from applying for admittance. Admittance is based on merit alone. A family’s ability to pay will not affect an acceptance decision. Financial Aid applications are only reviewed for students that have completed the school admittance application.

The application asks for both parents’ (regardless of marital status) W-2s (last pay stub of the year for applying 9th graders), tax returns for the previous year, business taxes, if applicable, and information about household expenses like vacations and club sports. Parents sign a waiver giving FACTS access to your tax returns directly through the IRS. Every family’s unique application is reviewed by the Financial Aid Committee with the goal of being good stewards of our resources, and all information will remain confidential. 

Chaminade offers academic scholarships for incoming students based on two criteria:

1. Academic achievement
   AND
2. Standardized test scores.

There is no additional application for these scholarships; academic transcripts will provide sufficient information.

High School and Middle School Applicants' academic scholarships are based on the most recent nationally recognized standardized test, taken within the admissions season (SSAT, Iowa Basics, ERB, MAP, NWEA- MAP Growth or Stanford Achievement) and achieving an A- or higher in their core academic classes. Academic scholarships range from $500 - $8,000, based on a composite score between the 91st and 99th percentile. 

Students who take the Missouri MAP test and achieve an "Advanced" score in both Communication/Language Arts and Math, as well as have an A- average in their core academic classes are eligible for a $6,000 scholarship. Students who achieve a "Proficient" score on one test and "Advanced" in another receive a $2,000 scholarship.

Students whose standardized test score does not qualify them for an academic scholarship have the option of taking the SSAT. Those scores must be sent to the admissions department by June 30th for consideration. See the SSAT website for test dates and locations.

Students who take a standardized test in the Spring before starting Chaminade in the Fall, may have those scores evaluated for a possible scholarship to be awarded the following school year. For example, a student applying for 6th grade, that takes the MAP test the Spring of 5th grade, may have those scores reviewed upon receipt. If the scores are high enough to receive an academic scholarship, it will be awarded in 7th grade. Those scores must be sent to the admissions department for consideration.

Academic scholarships are renewable in subsequent years provided the student remains in good academic standing at the end of each school year.

Middle school academic scholarships are reevaluated in a student's 8th grade year using the Iowa Basics Test. Students can qualify for a scholarship pending results. Increases apply to the next school year.

 NOTE: Freshman applicants must list Chaminade as their first choice school on the Archdiocesan Application form so we receive your transcripts.
